Hospitality
At The Alchemist’s Table and Temuka Pottery, we create handcrafted New Zealand tableware designed specifically for the demands of professional kitchens and restaurants.
Both brands are produced by our experienced team in our Palmerston North studio using the same trusted materials, firing processes and hospitality-grade standards.
The distinction lies in their aesthetic — allowing chefs and venues to select a consistent look or mix pieces across both collections to create layered, distinctive table settings.
Our ceramics are known throughout the hospitality industry for their strength, durability and individuality — built to withstand the pace of commercial service while bringing character and craft to the table.
Proven in New Zealand’s Leading Restaurants
Our tableware is trusted by chefs in some of New Zealand’s most respected dining rooms, including:
- Soul Bar & Bistro - Foley Hospitality
- Sherwood - Chris Scott
- GOAT - Sid Chopra
- Esther at QT Auckland
- QT Queenstown
- Loretta & Floriditas - Wellington
- Onemata - Park Hyatt Auckland
- Metita - Michael Meredith
These venues rely on our ceramics not only for their aesthetic impact but also for their consistency, reliability and resilience in busy service environments.
Designed for Professional Service
Every piece begins as raw clay and is shaped, fired and finished by our team of skilled ceramicists. Forms are developed by artisan potters and refined through careful production methods that ensure strength, stackability and consistency — essential qualities for hospitality.
Each piece is glazed by hand, giving subtle variation and character while maintaining the durability required for commercial use. We encourage all users to embrace the natural variation between glaze batches naturally found in handcrafted ceramics.
Our ceramics are designed to perform through high-volume service, commercial dishwashing and daily handling, while still delivering the visual impact expected in modern dining.
Two Brands, One Craft
The Alchemist’s Table celebrates expressive glaze, organic form and the transformative beauty of ceramic alchemy. Reactive glazes and handcrafted shapes create unique canvases for chefs to showcase their culinary work.
Temuka Pottery offers timeless, understated design with refined forms and dependable performance. Known for its versatility and durability, Temuka complements a wide range of cuisines and service styles.
Together, the two collections offer chefs the freedom to create a table setting that reflects their food and identity.
Stock and Lead Times
To support the fast-moving nature of hospitality, many core lines are held in stock and can be dispatched quickly when required.
For our more unique glazes or larger orders, items are produced to order with typical lead times of approximately 3–5 weeks. This allows venues to access the full breadth of our collections while maintaining the handcrafted quality we’re known for.
Built to Be Mixed
Because both brands are created within the same studio and share a common approach to form and glaze, many pieces can be mixed across collections with ease.
